BIS Application Process Checklist

1.  Contact a BIS advisor regarding your interest in the program.

Email your academic advisor and be sure to include the following:
Your Name
Your CWID
Your Current major
Your BIS concentration of interest (2 to 3 minors of interest)

What are your career plans after graduation?

2.  Review application information provided by your BIS advisor and on the  University College website. If you’re still interested in applying for the program, set up an appointment to review application process. Appointments only, please call 334-229-7620 to set up an appointment. This will ensure that we can prepare for you and have ample time to answer all questions.

3.  During your meeting you will complete a draft curriculum form before meeting with a BIS advisor for review.

In your BIS consultation with your academic advisor you will receive an application page, curriculum form (if needed), and the contact information for your faculty advisor. Once your application is completed and turned in, it will be reviewed by the BIS director and advisor for approval.

Your academic advisor will review the application, eligibility requirements, and the general overview of your intended minor or concentration.

Please turn your application to Paterson Hall 152.

You will receive an email from the Office of Interdisciplinary Studies within a few days after you've submitted your application. This email will either contain your welcome letter and approved application or proposed revisions you will need to complete.

4.  Review your academic evaluation regularly and meet with your advisor as necessary.
