The Montgomery area chapter of Alabama State University’s National Alumni Association
has awarded scholarships totaling $8,500 to 11 students who will be attending the
ASU for the 2024-25 school year.
The ASU Montgomery Alumni Chapter (MAC) has presented students with scholarships for
several years to help offset a portion of the cost of their education.
Six students received tuition scholarships, valued at $1,000 each, and five were the
recipients of the Montgomery Alumni Chapter Book Scholarship, amounting to $500 each.
Jared Shelling, Kenson Webb, Ferrin Lewis, Jasmine Jackson, Ashtyn Smith, Jazmine
Moorer, Trey Johnson, Michaela McKenzie, Isaiah Brunson, Jalisa Moore and Kaiya King
earned the scholarships based on their high school record of academic excellence and
good citizenship.
"Scholarships are pivotal to ensure successful matriculation through Alabama State
University. As the flagship alumni chapter, it is important to stand as the head in
terms of giving out scholarships to deserving ASU students," said Adrienne Stovall,
Vice President of the Montgomery Alumni Chapter.
Students who wish to apply for scholarships can reach out to the Montgomery Alumni
Chapter through the "Montgomery Alumni Chapter of Alabama State University" Facebook
