honors dayStudent scholars at Alabama State University will be recognized at the University's Honors Day Convocation on Friday (April 19) for their individual academic grades and achievements that they have earned this semester with a formal ceremony, which will recognize ASU students with a grade point average of a 3.0 or higher -- with many of those students having achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average. The University will also announce its selection of its Student of the Year.

The University's Provost, Dr. Carl S. Pettis (vice president of Academic Affairs) announced that the hour-long event will be held at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome beginning at 10 a.m. with much pageantry amid a large number of the honored student's family, friends, faculty and staff members in attendance.

The President of ASU, Dr. Quinton T. Ross, Jr., will give greetings to those present and ASU's athletic director, Dr. Jason M. Cable, is the event's keynote speaker. Provost Pettis shared that the pursuit of excellence will be on full display at Friday's ceremony.
