miss asu and the royal court

Each year, by an election and selection process, members of the student body are chosen to represent Alabama State University (ASU) as the Royal Court. It is an honor to represent ASU as a Royal Court member and titleholders will have a magnitude of duties and responsibilities as they fulfill their obligations.

Miss ASU is the official representative of the student body and Alabama State University as she ventures to competitions, attend conferences, events, and traditional functions, and make public appearances. She also plays a key role in community service for the campus population. Her role as a professional and leader exemplifies the University’s pride and legacy of our nation’s historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Her role models extremely comfortable in the public eye, with an image that reflects excellence.

Royal Court members serve as ambassadors of student academic and social excellence and reflect the same pride, attitude, and scholarly behavior as that of Miss Alabama State University.

Miss ASU & Royal Court members are required to be continuously enrolled as full-time students and available to assume all responsibilities of their roles during the academic year in which the office is held. Miss ASU & Royal Court members must possess and maintain a positive attitude towards Alabama State University, the student body, and the campus community. They should possess sound judgment, good character, high morals, and refrain from any acts that are detrimental to their character. They should reflect grace, style, dignity, and kindness at all times.

Miss ASU’s office is located in the Office of Student Life on the 2nd Floor of the John Garrick Hardy Student Center.
