Montgomery, AL. – The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), in collaboration with and Alabama State University and Trenholm State Community College, is set to host its SOAR (Seeking, Observing, and Achieving Results) HBCU Scholars Program from June 22 to June 27, 2025, on the campus of ASU.
This one-week residential summer program is designed for high-achieving high school rising seniors (class of 2026) and offers participants a unique opportunity to explore Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Historically Black Community Colleges (HBCCs). Throughout the program, students will gain valuable insights into college admissions, financial aid, and scholarship resources, while also exploring academic majors and career pathways. Notably, this program is offered at no cost to participants.
In addition to the academic exposure, key highlights for the program include:
Career Development Programs: Providing mentorship, internships, and networking opportunities.
Financial Empowerment Initiatives: Offering guidance on scholarships, financial literacy, and wealth-building strategies.
Leadership Training: Equipping students with the skills and confidence to lead in various industries.

This collaboration will ensure ensuring that students, particularly those from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), have access to the tools, knowledge, and networks necessary to thrive in today’s competitive workforce.”
In addition to exploring both campuses, attendees will also get to experience various attractions in Montgomery and the River Region as whole, incorporating key industry and site visits including but not limited to the EJI and the Montgomery Biscuits.
