What is accreditation?

 

Accreditation is a practice that ensures program quality through peer evaluation of educational programs. Programs that participate in specialized accreditation programs agree to uphold the standards set by the accrediting agency.

Alabama State University is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). As an accredited institutional member, Alabama State University agrees to comply with national standards set forth by the association. Through its membership in NASM, the University agrees to undergo regular and systematic peer review to demonstrate evidence of meeting the standards.
