Dr. Katrina Phillips

Dr. Katrina Phillips serves as Assistant Professor of Clarinet for the Department of Music at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama, where she teaches applied clarinet, woodwind methods, and serves as the coordinator of online music appreciation, distance learning, and dual enrollment for the Department of Music. In Montgomery, Dr. Phillips frequently performs with the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra and has performed in a number of shows at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery, including Cabaret, Annie and Cinderella. She has also performed with the Northwest Florida Symphony, and as a soloist with Concerto Avenna (Warsaw, Poland), and with the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra (MO), and Independence Symphony Orchestra (MO). She has performed at ClarinetFest in Assisi, Italy; Austin, Texas and Lawrence, Kansas. She has also performed numerous times at the annual Alabama Music Educators Professional Development Conference.

Dr. Phillips received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree and the Master of Music degree, both in clarinet performance, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and received the Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
