Alabama State University President Quinton T. Ross, Jr. will host a news conference at1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, to announce a substantial inaugural donation from Genesis Motor America (GMA)tolaunch the University's Mechanical Engineering program.
The event will be held at the corner of North University Drive and Harris Way with speakers includingPresident Ross; Robert Burns, chief administrative officer and vice president,Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLCand Colonel (ret.) Gregory Clark,ASU's vice president for Institutional Advancement. Clark noted that Genesis Motor America's transformative contribution will empower the University with resources and opportunities that will fuel innovation and excellence for ASU students who will be involved in its mechanical engineering program.
"Genesis Motor America's largesse and donation to Alabama State University's Mechanical Engineering program will enable it to offer state-of-the-art facilities, advanced technological resources, and valuable industry connections, which will empower and support it and the next generation of the nation's mechanical engineers," stated ASU's Clark.
