Alabama State University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host its 11th annual Women in Business Conference, which honors the many contributions that women have and are continuing to make in the realm of small business.
The event, which also honors Women’s History Month, takes place March 8 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in ASU's John Garrick Hardy Student Center Ballroom.
The conference is free and provides lunch for its attendees, but note that pre-registration
is required by March 7 at 5 p.m., by signing up online at: https://asbdc.
The SBDC's executive director, Andrea Rogers Mosley, explained there is no better way for the University to honor the many accomplishments and ground-breaking history that women have accomplished in small business than to hold a conference that offers cutting-edge data and networking skills specifically for women.
"We are honored to host our 11th annual event in conjunction with Women's International Day. Alabama State's SBDC will celebrate this month of awareness by hosting what we call our Little Pink Toolbox Conference," Mosley said. "This conference is designed to provide participants with skills in business management, tips on financial wellness, and shared experience discussions from several successful business women who are renowned entrepreneurs."
HONORING WOMEN BY SHARING TIPS FOR SUCCESS
The event will focus on a myriad of topics, including financial wellness, planning
ahead; challenges women business owners face and how to conquer them; international
business opportunities; federal contracting certifications; how to better access capital;
networking tips; and a panel discussion. The conference's keynote speaker is Montez
Diamond, who is with the Small Business Administration's Office of Advocacy-Region
4, serving eight states in the South.
The conference is co-hosted by AITC, TechMGM, NAWBO, Ignite Alabama, and the Mu Chapter
of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.
