As America celebrates Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Day on March 16, Alabama State University’s SBDC will sponsor an opportunity for entrepreneurs in Montgomery and other parts of the River Region to gain valuable information about marketing their products on line.
ASU’s SBDC director, Andrea Rogers Mosley, explained that in line with the University’s
“CommUniversity” initiative, her on-campus group of experts will host "America's SBDC Day Mini-Conference: Small Business Online Marketing 101," which will take place March 16, from 10:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. virtually (online). To
obtain the online address to participate, one must first register at https://asbdc.
The mini-conference is free and open to the public, courtesy of the ASU SBDC and the event’s co-sponsors, which are TruFund Financial Services, GoDaddy, and Qualtrics XM.
EVENT TEACHES BASICS OF ONLINE BUSINESS MARKETING
Mosley said online marketing may be the future of small business success.
"We discovered many things during the COVID-19 pandemic, and one important item from the small business perspective was that not everyone had the resources or hands-on knowledge to market or sell their business products or services in an online fashion," Mosley said. "Some small businesses fell to the wayside because they did not know the basics of how to pivot their formerly in-person business model and approach to a new online model."
"This ASU mini-conference's goal is to help small business owners enhance and learn the basics of online sales, lead generation and marketing so they may keep up their sales and market-share regardless of any imposed government guidelines or social reluctance for old fashioned in-person approaches - online is the new normal in marketing," Mosley added.
TOPICS COVERED AT EVENT
Among the topics covered by ASU's SBDC online event will be eCommerce, Internet/web training, new marketing/sales strategies and social media technology.
