Alabama State University and the Alabama Commission of Higher Education will host a Civil Rights Symposium about the impact of Civil Rights activism on college campuses on Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. in the Ralph D. Abernathy Hall Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
U.S. Ambassador Andrew J. Young, who has earned worldwide recognition as a pioneer in and champion of civil and human rights, will be the guest speaker.
With an eye on the past and another on the present, attendees will be able to discuss and debate the commonalities of past civil rights problems and present-day civil rights challenges.
ASU also will host a student poster competition and the Student Civil Rights Symposium with Ambassador Young.
