Our laboratory interest include: (i) developing gene therapy models that will contribute to the advancement of biomedical sciences and human health. (ii) developing safe and effective vaccines for infectious diseases. Our research concentrates on the scientific investigation of human disease, specifically, disease pathogenesis and vaccine development related to HIV-1, Chagas disease and Zika Fever. In regard to our vaccine efforts, we focus on genetically modifying adenoviral vectors and human exosomes to be used as vaccine delivery vehicles for human disease reduction or elimination.
