The 2023-2024 Donor Trust Scholarship portal is open.  The last day to apply is April 3, 2023 for the 2023-2024 academic year.

 

GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS

Trust for Educational Excellence Scholarship

  • 3.0 GPA or higher

Alexander and Calloway Memorial Scholarship

  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • First generation to attend college
  • Interested in a career in law, medicine, political science, or teaching

Mamie and Ohnnie Allen Scholarship

  • 3.5 GPA or higher
  • Completed freshman year

Arthur D. Barnett Scholarship

  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Submit one letter of recommendation from an ASU Instructor
  • Submit an essay up to two pages on the following topic:

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENT ATHLETES

Thomas Ervin Scholarship

  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Must have athletic achievement
  • Must possess leadership skills
  • Must have shown dedication to community service

The George James, Jr. Athletic Scholarship

  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher during the period of the scholarship award
  • Must be a student athlete
  • Must submit a letter of recommendation from your head coach
  • Cannot have any current or prior citations for violating any university policies and/or codes relating to conduct or discipline
    • Must submit a letter of verification of the above from the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs

The Charles "Buddy" Spears Athletic Scholarship

  • 2.7 GPA or higher
  • Must maintain a 2.7 GPA or higher during the period of the scholarship award
  • Must be a student athlete
  • Must submit a letter of recommendation from your head coach
  • Cannot have any current or prior citations for violating any university policies and/or codes relating to conduct or discipline
    • Must submit a letter of verification of the above from the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs

The John H. Jones Academic Scholarship for Track, English, and Public Speaking

  • Open to all classifications
  • Priority is given to full-time student/track and field athletes (five scholarships designated to track and field athletes)
  • Secondary consideration to any ASU student in good standing

     

  • Must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Submit a letter of interest as a scholarship applicant

     

  • Submit a letter of recommendation from any faculty member, if not a track and field athlete

     

  • Submit a letter of recommendation from the Track Coach, mandatory requirement for track and field athletes

Tommie "Tonea" Stewart Theatre Talent Scholarship

  • 2.5 GPA or higher in high school
  • Show evidence of theatre talent in the performance of technical area through work on live theatrical productions
  • Submit two letters of recommendation addressing your past academic and artistic performance and potential as a theatre artist in either performance or technical theatre
  • Be evaluated by the faculty of the Theatre Arts Program in the areas of performance (audition required) or technical theatre (portfolio required)
  • Must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher in order to renew

Luther L. and Sadie G. Penn Scholarship

  • 3.2 GPA or higher in high school
  • Maintain a 3.2 GPA or higher
  • Majoring in English
  • Resident of Montgomery during high school

The Monica Scott-Matthews Scholarship

  • 3.0 GPA or higher in high school
  • Preference is given in the following order:
    1. From Wilcox County, AL
    2. From Dallas County, AL
    3. If no students in these counties apply, then the scholarship is open to anyone

The Ora Belle Patrick Memorial Scholarship

  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Must be a parent who is going back to school to pursue or complete their education
  • Submit three letters of recommendation
