Alabama State University's office of Career Services has received four contributions from Honda totaling over $270,000 that will be used to support students during their collegiate education and beyond graduation.
"These four contributions will enable Alabama State to advance its students in two very important categories that will help them succeed in school—software programs and driver education—as well as to advance their careers after graduation," said Dr. Sabrina C. Simmons, assistant vice president of Student Affairs, Student Development and Engagement.
One contribution from Honda will support "Department Software," enabling the purchase of several different software packages that will help the University's undergraduate students become career-ready by graduation. The second Honda contribution will fund the "Driving Force," an initiative that teaches Alabama State students to drive vehicles.
Honda also awarded Alabama State University two additional contributions from the company’s Education and Traffic Safety pillars.
“Honda is proud to partner with Alabama State University to help power the dreams of students preparing to enter the workforce,” said Bobbie Trittschuh, manager of Charitable Giving at Honda. “All of these programs come together to provide real support to students as they shape their futures.”
"ASU is truly Where History is Made, and we thank Honda for investing in our students," stated Dr. Simmons.
