An Alabama State University alumna, Porsha Davis, is among the first to offer luxury cosmetic products targeted for "women of color" in a high-end retail store in the world's busiest airport - Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Professionally known as "Fanci," Davis sells her aviation-themed brand of cosmetics, called FLYFANCI COSMETICS.

Fanci, a Montgomery native, is a 2014 graduate of Alabama State University and is an Atlanta-based flight attendant. The airport is the first time she has sold products in a walk-in retail store after having sold her luxury skincare products online for several years.

"My aviation-themed cosmetic line draws inspiration from my career," stated Fanci. "We are offering a large range of beauty products, which includes bold and vibrant quality lip gloss, waterproof Matte lipsticks and lip liners that are very highly pigmented, do not smudge and last up to 24 hours, which enhances our client's travel and everyday looks."

Fanci’s line of high-end products were previously only available online at flyfancicosmetics.com but now may be seen and purchased in one of the world's most exclusive shops "BeRelax Spa," which is located in Terminal B, near Gate B-22 in the Atlanta Airport.

"This achievement is monumental, as securing the sales of our products in an important retail space in such a high-traffic location is a dream for many businesses, especially minority-owned small businesses," Fanci said. "My luxury skin care products are for women who want to boldly showcase their beauty or just add a little spunk into their lifestyle at home or while they are traveling."

Shani Crayton, who serves as the executive director of the University's Department of Strategic Communications and Marketing, recently flew though the Atlanta Airport on her way to a conference and was elated to discover such an impressive cosmetics line of products that are owned by an Alabama State University graduate, which are offered in such a world reknowned venue and are targeted for minority women.

"Fanci’s success story is a testament to her hard work and the support of a network that advocated for her in key moments," Crayton said. "Sustaining this success for Fanci and her product line requires ongoing support, and I hope that my fellow Hornets, when traveling through the Atlanta Airport, will please visit the incredible BeRelax Spa that stocks and sells her products, as well as the three other Atlanta-based Black women-owned companies, which are @shopki_meishon, @redliptherapy and @honeysucklemoon."

Crayton explained that other businesses interested in expanding into the Atlanta Airport's retail or concessions sales may begin the process by contacting the business management consultant @dbeConsulting (phone at 404 966-3573) for guidance and support, which has as its diversity brand manager another ASU alumna, Jasmine Carr (ASU 2009).

"Let's rally behind our fellow Hornet, Porsha Davis (Fanci), and ensure FlyFanci Cosmetics continues to soar," Crayton said with enthusiasm.
