The “Hype Is On” for the Hornets football season with the debut of the new “SWARMAS1” video. The video was produced by the University’s Division of Marketing and Strategic Communications.
“When I first heard Coach Eddie Robinson talk about what a swarm of Hornets could do, his message was so energizing that I knew we had to do something special with it,” said ASU’s vice president for Marketing and Strategic Communications, Lois G. Russell. “I reached out to alumnus Terrence Baldwin and the T. Baldwin Music crew to put the song and video together. We wanted to help to unify our players and athletics behind one sound so that we are really ‘swarming’ as one.”
Robinson said the video captures the spirit of the SWARMAS1 concept that was developed when he was first announced as head football coach.
“Hornet Nation has really caught on to this idea that we all swarm as one,” said Robinson. “Whether it’s football or any of ASU’s Division 1 sports, we are one team with one goal and that is to win. As the new video says, ‘If we’re gonna’ win then we’ve all gotta do it.’ As I’ve said before, my goal is to win a SWAC Championship in football, but I also support all of my fellow coaches in their goals of doing the same thing in their respective sports.”
The “SWARMAS1” video hit social media Thursday morning and is already making the rounds throughout Hornet Nation.
“We’ll play the video before the team comes out to hype the game. And any time the Hornets score or make big plays, we want to hear the fans in the stands rocking with the SWARM,” said Athletic Director, Dr. Jason Cable. “We believe in Coach Robinson and this team, and we’re looking forward to a great season of Hornets football.”
