The National Center for the Study of Civil Rights and African-American Culture at Alabama State University will host the 18th Annual Patrons and Donors Reception on Sunday November 21 at 3 pm. This event will be held virtually at www.facebook.com/civilrightscenter.
The National Center will acknowledge 14 donors to the archives. The highlight of the collections is a silver serving platter that was a gift to Rev. Robert and Jean Graetz from Dr. Martin and Coretta Scott King Jr. in 1958. It was donated to ASU by the Graetz family.
Other patrons to be honored are Doris Youngblood (Patron of the Year), Barbara Weatherly (Citizen of the Year), and Senator Kirk Hatcher (Director's Award).
The Patrons and Donors Reception is held to recognize and honor the Patrons of the National Center for the Study of Civil Rights and African-American Culture (National Center). This program is an opportunity to say thank you to individuals and organizations that have contributed financial or material donations to the University.
