The sounds of New Orleans are coming to Alabama State University for a night
of festivities and fundraising.
So, revelers get ready to celebrate Mardi Gras “Party with a Purpose!” and
raise funds to help the University Choir get to Carnegie Hall.
The party lasts from 7 p.m. to midnight, Friday, February 17, at The Nest
at the ASU Stadium. The first 100 guests will receive buffet tickets.
Patrons are asked to get into the Mardi Gras spirit and wear purple, green, and gold
for this night of entertainment.
“This glittering purple, green, and gold party is the perfect way to honor
the extravagant traditions of Mardi Gras – a celebration of life and fun – while also
raising money for the University Choir,” said Audrey Parks, ASU’s director of Development.
Purple, green and gold are the official Mardi Gras colors, and each has a specific
meaning: purple for justice, green for faith and gold representing power.
“Come celebrate with us and have a great time,” Parks added.
Tickets to the Mardi Gras Party are $25 for individuals and $250 for reserved tables.
Tickets and tables may be purchased at www.alasu.edu/TheNest.
