This year’s 14 seniors from Alabama State University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)
in Dance Program are presenting one of their capstone projects – two weeks of riveting
concert presentations.
The BFA's series of dance concerts will be held at 6 p.m. on the evenings of March 9-10 and March 16-17 in the Tullibody Fine Arts Building in the Lelia Barlow Theatre, 845 S. Jackson Street.
The concerts paint an engaging and captivating picture of these students’ experience
and time at ASU.
"These students have almost completed a very rigorous and very full BFA curriculum
at ASU, and these Senior Capstone concerts are the culmination of what they've learned.
Gifted, talented, skilled, trained, and absolutely tenacious when it comes to sharing
their amazing gifts, these seniors are going to present an outstanding concert. We
are so excited!" said Dr. Wendy Coleman, dean of the College of Visual and Performing
Arts.
The dancers will provide rigorous, high-caliber, diverse, and technically proficient
pieces with a focus on choreography and performance. The concert will consist of several
genres including Ballet and Modern as well as foundational techniques, African dance,
Hip-Hop and Jazz.
