Alabama State University ( ASU) and Montgomery Public Schools (MPS) have partnered to provide a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for students ages 5-11, on Friday, Jan 21, and again on Friday, Jan. 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. The clinic  is located in  ASU Lockhart Gymnasium,  860 University Drive North.

ASU President, Dr. Quinton T. Ross, Jr., said the University is proud to partner with MPS again in the system’s efforts to promote safety.

“ASU, in partnership with the Alabama Department of Public Health, was able to partner with MPS to vaccinate school system employees last year, and now we are excited to have this opportunity to provide vaccinations for MPS students. These latest vaccinations are a prime example of ASU’s focus on CommUniversity. We applaud the efforts of Dr. Moore and her staff to do all that they can to protect those who work and learn in the public schools in our city,” said Ross.

ASU will have 300 pediatric doses of the Pfizer vaccine at the clinic this Friday. Parents must accompany children to sign consent forms and bring government-issued identification. Children should wear comfortable clothes that provide nurses with easy access to their upper arms.

“We are excited to work with ASU to provide this crucial protection to our students,” said Dr. Ann Roy Moore, superintendent of MPS. “Our goal is to provide preventive measures to keep our students safe and healthy.”
