WHEN: January 17 (Tuesday) 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

WHERE: Virtually, via Zoom

Entrepreneurs who are interested in learning more about doing business with the U.S. Air Force Program's Executive Office (PEO) Business and Enterprise Systems (BES) Directorate, should participate in the virtual procurement training webinar being offered by Alabama State University's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) on January 17 (Tuesday) from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.

"The free-of-charge executive training offers participants the opportunity to learn the basic requirements for contracting business with the Air Force's Business and Enterprise Systems,” said Andrea Rogers Mosley, the SBDC's executive director.

During Tuesday’s event, a select few will be able to pitch their own business proposals during a live online time called the “matchmaker.” These selected business owners will have seven to 10 minutes each to pitch their business ideas to local decision-makers on a first-come, first-served basis.

"Select small business participants attending this training will be given an opportunity to virtually present their capabilities-pitch directly to the BES procurement decision-makers...government requirement representatives, and contracting personnel… to showcase their products and services in support of strategic market research for future opportunities,” Mosley said.

The SBDC's training workshop will be led by Maxwell's top Air Force expert, Yolanda B. McCain, who is the director of its Small Business Programs at Maxwell Air Force Base-Gunter Annex in Montgomery.

SPECIAL BUSINESS PITCH INSTRUCTIONS LIMITED TO THE FIRST EIGHT

Individuals interested in participating in the matchmaker portion of the event need to email their capability statement to Cordero Young, ASU's procurement specialist, at cyoung@alasu.edu as soon as possible due to the limited number of those allowed to participate.

"The matchmaker portion, which runs from 1 p.m.  to  2:30 p.m., is limited to only eight procurement-ready small businesses. If selected, the ASU staff will provide the small business owners with additional information required for the matchmaker portion of the training," Mosley added.
