Alabama State University’s annual Halloween event Spooktacular is back from the grave once more! The haunted celebration, sponsored by ASU’s University Program and Activities Board (UPAB), is from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, behind The ASU Stadium. The event is free.
“We want to make this a new tradition here at Alabama State University. We want this to become an opportunity for local businesses, ASU students and the community to gather together and fellowship while enjoying the fall season. Our aim is to keep the youth engaged in a safe and friendly environment,” said UPAB President Martavious Young.
The outdoor festival will feature activities by student organizations and local businesses, including big games, inflatables, a student organization trunk or treat (candy bags are limited and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis), live music, and more!
Children also can dress up in their Halloween best and enter the festival’s costume contest.
“The weather is just right to enjoy an evening filled with family fun, games and activities. It will feature fun for all ages,” said Young.
ASU is a mask-mandatory campus and the University’s COVID-19 guidelines will be in place. All festival guests are encouraged to have masks on hand.
"We hope to bring the Halloween tradition to life in a fun new way while being as safe as possible,” Young said. “This is a free community event where everyone is welcome.”
