VOTERS AND ELECTION RULES

voter rights

The right to vote is one of our nation’s most sacred duties and participating in the election of a new SGA and Miss ASU and Court, is no different.

Although you will not be here on campus to exercise your right to vote, you can do it comfortably and confidently from where you are, via our partnership with Simply Voting.

Simply Voting is a third-party company that specializes in hosting and warehousing elections and their results for organizations, apart from any physical or technical assistance from ASU.

Because your vote matters, Simply Voting will ensure the highest security and reliability. ASU continues to use them as a voting resource and assist with our managed elections because of these guarantees.

As a duly enrolled, ASU student, you have the right to:

1) Vote ONCE on Monday, April 27, 2020 OR Tuesday, April 28, 2020, between the hours of 9:00 am until 5:00 p.m., Central Standard Time, for the 2020 Student Leader Digital Election.

2) Receive ONE unique ID code from Simply Voting, to your official myasu.alasu.edu email address. Your unique ID code is what you will use to log into your ballot and cast your vote.

Your unique code will not come from ASU. Simply Voting has randomly selected it based on the university’s listing of all enrolled students for the spring 2020 semester.

Simply Voting’s email to you, with your unique ID code, will come from the following email address: vote@simplyvoting.com.

If you currently do not have access to your myasu.alasu.edu email address or you need to have your password reset, then please email ots@alasu.edu in advance of the 2020 Student Leader Digital Election and someone will assist you.

3) Receive simple instructions on how to cast your vote from Simply Voting. The instructions will be included in the email that you receive from vote@simplyvoting.com.

4) Know who to contact on campus if you have questions about your ballot. You can contact Jackie Powell at jpowell@alasu.edu.

5) Be made aware of the 2020 Student Leader Digital Election outcome by Wednesday, April 29, 2020, no later than 12:00 noon, on Instagram Live and other social media platforms.
