What is Student Support Services

Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program through the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next.

The Alabama State University SSS Program is funded to serve only 160 eligible students, and because of federal guidelines, priority must be given to those who meet federal eligibility requirements.

The TRIO Student Support Services Program is registered as a campus organization, which allows students to be involved in both academic and extracurricular activities such as the Campus Organization Fair, Turkey Day Classic Parade, and the Miss ASU Coronation.

We look for motivated students who reflect a need for academic support and who want to make use of the ASU SSS Program to help reach their goal of becoming successful college graduates.
