COMPLETED ADMISSIONS APPLICATION

Complete Alabama State University Undergraduate Admissions Application Online, A $30 (U.S.) non-refundable application processing fee is required.

NOTE: You must have a GPA,  and SAT or ACT score with a GPA 2.0- 2.49 and 18 ACT or 860 SAT, 2.5 -2.99 and 17 ACT or 820 SAT, 3.0-3.49 and 16 ACT or 770 SAT, or 3.50 or higher and 15 ACT or 20 SAT to apply for admission.

After applying for admission, you will receive a student ID number; this does not imply that you have been fully admitted.

NOTE:  If you are entering Alabama State University as an International Student the Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility) will be issued only after all requirements have been met and you have been provided with a letter of admission.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

Fall Semester (begins in August) June 1
Spring Semester (begins in January) November 1
Summer Term (begins in June) April 1

The above mentioned deadlines will be enforced for all F-1(students) and J-1(students and scholars) applicants who will require visa sponsorship from Alabama State University. **Exceptions will be made on an as-needed basis at the discretion of Dr. Hines.

EVALUATION OF OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

Evaluation of official transcripts from all schools previously attended (high school and college). Transcripts, if not in English, must be translated into English by an official translation service. Once the transcript has been translated, please forward to the following for evaluation:

OFFICIAL COPY OF THE TEST OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (TOEFL)

Official copy of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) results - required if your native language is not English. A minimum acceptable score of 500- paper-based, 173-computer-based, or 61-Internet-based exam. Also, the English language requirement will be met upon completion of Level 112 at a Language Center. Send to above address.
 

 

CONFIDENTIAL FINANCIAL STATEMENT

Confidential Financial Support Statement, properly notarized, affirming your ability to fully meet the expected expenses of attending Alabama State University for the first year of study (in U.S. dollars). Your name has to be referenced in the statement – can be personal funds or funds from family or sponsors. International students pay out-of state tuition. The current undergraduate cost for two semesters is approximately $24,139.00 for students living on campus which includes tuition, fees, housing/meals, books and health insurance. NOTE: This is the same type of information you will most likely have to provide the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

NOTE: International Students are eligible for academic scholarships but not for financial aid. See attached Scholarship Application information and form.

HEALTH CENTER EVALUATION FORM

Complete the ASU Health Center evaluation form (.pdf).

You must also have the TB test results sent in with the Health Evaluation Form

NOTE: Tuberculosis (TB) screening test must be submitted in English. If there is difficulty with interpretation of results, or legibility of documents presented, you may be asked to repeat the test. If you have any questions feel free to contact Health Services at 334/229-4436. All required documents listed above should be sent to this office after formal application. All credentials submitted become the property of the University and will not be returned or forwarded.


HEALTH INSURANCE

International students are required to purchase health insurance that includes repatriation and medical evacuation.


ON-CAMPUS HOUSING

If you desire to live in one of the residence halls, you should apply for housing as early as possible, after you have received your student ID number. The required deposit should accompany the application. Admission to the University does not imply nor guarantee you a place in university housing.

NOTE: Vacation periods are scheduled throughout the calendar year. The University usually closes during such periods, and students living on campus are expected to provide their own food and lodging during those periods which will require additional expenses.

 

ESTIMATED EXPENSES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (UNDERGRADUATE)

The following listed expenses are estimates for an applicant’s first two semesters at Alabama State University as an Undergraduate International Student. NOTE: 60% of expenses are due at registration – balance due within 30 days thereafter. If an International Student is unable to continue in school because of the lack of funds, the U.S. Immigration Services will be informed that attendance has been discontinued.
