A recent graduate of Alabama State University has been selected as one of the prestigious Donald M. Payne International Development Fellows.
Trinity Brown (2023) was one of only 30 people selected from more than 800 applicants nationwide to receive the fellowship, explained Dr. Kennedy S. Wekesa, ASU’s associate provost for Academic Affairs.

"We are overjoyed, but not surprised, that such an outstanding Alabama State academic scholar, such as Ms. Brown, was tapped for this huge honor that provides up to $104,000 towards her graduate school studies and a position in the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Foreign Service, after she completes her graduate school studies," Wekesa stated. "She is a native of Dayton, Ohio, and she graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in International Relations, Global Politics, and Foreign Policy. She was among our best and brightest undergraduate students."
